Facebook recently began to show sponsored stories in the site’s main news feed and in its mobile apps, where they appear a lot less like traditional ads, though they do bear a “Sponsored” label. It has told investors that consumers were 50 percent more likely to recall an ad if it came with a plug from a Facebook friend. And it has made clear to users that while they can change a privacy setting so their “likes” do not appear under ads in the most prominent advertising zone on Facebook pages, they cannot turn off other kinds of endorsements that show up elsewhere. “Because sponsored stories are just stories from the news feed, you cannot opt out of them,” Facebook explains in its help center.

parnets fear hunger games
The article 'Parents fear Hunger Games too violent for young fans' talks about how parents are not letting their young children see the new, popular movie due to the violence. the article interviews multiple parents and their children. All of the parents said that they were not letting their children see the movie and all of the children said they were not happy with their parents. I personally think that a parent knows best in this situation. When kids are between 7-11, parents have a much better overall idea of what their kids can handle, than the child themselves. If a parent thinks that their kid can handle it then they should let them see the movie, if not, then they shouldn't let them.

Teaching girls to rock
The target audience of this feature piece is most likely girls in middle school and high school who would be interested in music and mothers who would want their daughters to take up this interest. The purpose of this piece is to advertise Jessica Hooper's new book and spark and interest in music to the target audience. The author presents the information in a happy manner so that everything in the article sounds wonderful. the author appears to get all of her information from an interview with Jessica Hooper.
Proposal for feature story:
Interests: sports, buisness, cooking, exercise
I would like to do a feature story on Tim tebow. i would write about how his religious backround affect peoples perception of him as both a football player and a person. i think many people would be interested in this story because he is such a well known figure in both the sports world and pop culture.

The Warrior Weekly. AHS's news source
The Warrior Weekly is Andover high schools news source. While some of the information on the site is interesting, I find most of it is irrelevent because the "news" that is posted is usually posted awhile after people have stopped talking about it. One thing I do like about the website is that the news is simplified. It's very easy for people to understand unlike some other new sources. I think if the news is updated when it happens then the website could be a lot more interesting.
